Episode 027: Working with individuals with Differing Abilities and the benefits of IEP w/Carl & Jess

It turns out that Individual Education Programs aren't just for people with Down syndrome, or Autism, or visibly recognizable differing abilities. Jess found herself struggling with certain aspects in her education, and started an IEP in fourth grade. This wasn't something she grew out of, or fixed... but its a tool she uses to this day to perform better in her education.

We had no idea what an IEP was, but the more we learn, the more thankful we are that the education system has them in place. Jess says it best in the interview; "[Evie] can do anything. She can do anything her heart desires."

Carl and Jess are an integral part of our family support, and we're so thankful they are part of our Upside Down Family.
