Episode 037: The Value of Your Story

Apple | Spotify | Stitcher

In today's episode Phil (aka Grandpa, aka Kyle's Dad) shares the value of story. Dad speaks and writes on life and business principles, and I asked him to share a few points from his newest book, "Take the Stage: 64 Essential Leadership Lessons Learned From Theatre"

As a parent, or a family member, or a caregiver for a person with Down syndrome, we often find ourselves sharing our story. Too often we find ourselves communicating the message instead of connecting with our listener... and this can be especially damaging if we're advocating.

In this episode dad shares tips and stories about sharing the story and connecting with a listener. His last point in the episode addresses how success is seen differently by everyone, and we need to define success for us or our child independently.

I'm so excited that I get to share Dad's wisdom with you. Thank YOU for being part of the Upside Down Family!
